… Villa Borghese was born as a "villa delle delizie" as well. It was renowned for the parties that Cardinal Scipione Borghese (nephew to Pope Paolo V) held there and for his broad art collection treasured between the walls of the main building, the Casino - not by chance, it is still a museum.

Here, the bucolic aspirations of the nobles are testified by the henhouses that once occupied the secret gardens on the sides of the main palace.

Or the aviary on the roof.

By the beautiful lake and the artificial island that hosts a neoclassical temple dedicated to Esculapio, the Greek god of medicine.
